Office Outlook 2007
Things have changed for Outlook in Office 2007. To view messages in plain text, the first step is the Trust Center. This item can be found on the Tools menu as shown.
The new Trust Center provides access to many options. The one addressed by this article is located by clicking "E-mail Security". This link is shown in the screen shot circled in red.
With the E-mail Security view of the Trust Center open, users can activate the plain text option by placing a check in the associated check box by left clicking the check box. As before check boxes with check are activated. To deactivate the corresponding option, click the check box to remove the check. It appears that these options are available in all views of this version of Outlook, unlike the previous version which only allowed changes from the mail box view.
The second step in our e-mail security, turning off the Reading Pane in Office 2007 Outlook, remains unchanged from Office 2003 Outlook. Click View on the top line menu then hover on the Reading Pane item. When the menu cascades the options Right, Bottom and Off appear. Simply click Off and our security measures are in place.
