The Thunderbird e-mail client from Mozilla can also be made more secure with these methods. To read all messages in plain text, simply click View on the top line menu. On the View menu, click "Message Body As". Finally, on the cascade menu click "Plain Text".
In Thunderbird the preview or reading pane is called the Message Pane. This option is also accessed via the View menu. This time, though, you would click "Layout" on the drop down menu. Then on the cascading menu click "Message Pane". This entry toggles and when in effect there is a check next to this item on the cascading menu.
