No matter how hard you try or how careful you are, if you sell parts of any kind you end up with some that just take up shelf space and gather dust. Parker & Myers Computers is no exception. Fortunately, we have been able to keep this to a minimum. Unfortunately, you can't put enough ketchup on parts to make them taste good when you have to eat them. Having witnessed customers listing these kind of parts on their web sites and having some success in moving them, we thought we'd give it a try.
This PCI I/O Adapter card was ordered for a customer that wanted an extra LPT port. The customers mass merchant computer would not recognize the card. When installed in one of our computers it was recognized immediately. Not needing an extra parallel port, this card has been sitting on the shelf ever since. By NetMos Technology, it comes with drivers for Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0 and DOS.
This is an AMD Athlon XP processor heat sink and cooling fan. We experienced a run on failed heat sink fans and ordered extra just in case. Socket A processors were discontinued before we used all of the fans.
Another special order that didn't work in a mass merchant computer even though the manufacturers web site specified PC133. This DIMM chip is 512mb of PC 133 memory.
This is an AGP video card. A Radeon X1650 Pro by Asus with 256mb onboard memory. We got this by forgetting a letter in the part number when ordering. It was never installed as the unit it was purchased for had a PCI Express X16 video card slot, which AGP cards just will not fit in even if you were to use a shoe horn. If you have a Windows XP computer with an AGP port you are thinking of upgrading to Windows Vista, this card should improve your Windows Experience Index rating considerably.
